Hank Cawthorne was born in Madison TN on April 24th 1974. He went to school in Indianapolis, IN and graduated from Warren Central High School. He has worked in the swimming pool business and has been a concrete finisher for 20 years. Hank started playing guitar at age 8 and got his first fiddle at age 10. He learned to play music from his family. When he was a young boy he spent hours every day after school practicing the old time fiddle tunes he’d learned. In his first grade Christmas play he sang and preformed Silent Night while playing his guitar on stage in front of an audience of 500 people.
Throughout his high school years he sang in with choirs and landed parts in school musicals and talent shows. After graduating high school he went on the road with Someday, a group based out of Searcy Arkansas for a year. While singing with Someday he recorded two albums. He then enrolled in college at David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. While in college he traveled coast to coast with an acapella singing group called Harmony. With Harmony he released three new albums. Hank also started writing, arranging, and producing music for the group.
After the group went its separate ways Hank started singing around Nashville in different night spots. He then made a move to Tullahoma, TN. It was there in Tullahoma where he recorded and released his first solo album. After living there for a year he moved to Lynchburg, TN and released his second solo album, Kuntry as Cornbread. He was employed by Jack Daniels Distillery as a solo act for the tourists. He was also making weekly appearances at the BBQ Caboose and was a member of the house band for the Old Time Country Radio Show hosted by Paul Jones and 1580AM WLIJ.
Hank traveled around in a 36 foot motor home for about a year making several solo appearances in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Montana and Missouri. He has also preformed at the Country Music Hall of Fame. He then resumed working in Louisville KY not playing music or writing for two years.
He now resides in Indianapolis Indiana. Still working in the swimming pool/ concrete business he spends the winter focusing only on recording and writing new material for the group Blue Lonesome.
